Timber Window Refurbishment Project
CPSL Mind, Cambridge
Lyon Construction was appointed to restore and refurbish 17 timber windows at CPSL Mind’s property on Chesterton Road, Cambridge. The existing window frames were in very poor condition, with significant deterioration requiring extensive preparation and repair works before decoration could begin.
Scope of Works
* Refurbishment of 17 timber windows
* Replacement of 2 failed glazing units
* Removal of defective timber and loose materials
* Specialist filling, repairs and restoration of window frames
* Preparation, priming and redecorating of all affected areas
* Access works at heights of up to 10 metres
Challenges
The project involved working at height and required a professionally erected scaffold system to provide safe access to all elevations. Our team of four operatives completed the works while maintaining strict health and safety procedures throughout the project.
Outcome
The windows were successfully restored, significantly improving both the appearance and longevity of the building. The client received a cost-effective alternative to full window replacement while preserving the character of the property.
